To get you the best rate available on the market, we need to understand your finances. The simplest way to do that is to get a copy of your bank statements and proof of income. If you include a statement that shows your current address, this also helps us make sure you are who you say you are.
We need the most recent bank statement(s) for all of your accounts that you regularly transact with. This includes:
- Your main current account(s)
- Any bill accounts that you use or accounts for specific regular use e.g. a hobby
- Any joint accounts you are operating
- Any credit card accounts which you are currently regularly using
How to provide your statement(s)
Option 1 – take a photo
Press + in the bottom left of Nivo in the Freedom Finance channel – select Camera (or if you’ve already taken the photo select Photo to select from your phone’s photo library)
You can take photos of any of the 3 different formats of statement:
(Photo option 1 of 3) A paper version of the document (include all pages)
(Photo option 2 of 3) A computer screen showing your transactions (make sure you take photos covering each transaction in the last 31 days)
(Photo option 3 of 3) A computer screen showing a copy of your statement from online banking (include all pages)
Option 2 – take a screenshot from your mobile banking
If you have a mobile banking app, or if you can access online banking on your phone, you can screenshot the transactions. Make sure that you take screenshots covering each transaction in the last 31 days.
How you take a screenshot from your phone will depend on the model of phone that you are using. Often it can be done by pressing the home and power buttons at the same time. If not, a Google search will provide the answer for how you screenshot from your phone.
Once you have taken the screenshot, upload it by pressing + in the bottom left of Nivo in the Freedom Finance channel – select Photo and choose the screenshots that should be in your photo library
Option 3 – upload a downloaded copy of your statement
Many online and mobile banking applications will let you download a copy of your statement electronically. Ideally, initiate the download on your phone. If that isn’t possible then you can download on another device/computer and then send it to your phone (e.g. by Bluetooth). There are many different ways that this can be achieved that will depend on the devices you are using. If you aren’t sure, a Google search should provide the answer.
Once the download is on your device, upload it by pressing + in the bottom left of Nivo in the Freedom Finance channel – select Document to open your phone’s folders and choose the relevant file(s) for your statement(s)
Proof of Income
We need proof of the income you receive. This may well be visible on the bank statement(s) you’ve provided. If that is the case, don’t worry about attaching anything else. If not clear from there, then using the same options as above, also upload into the Freedom Finance channel on Nivo:
- Your most recent payslip
- Your most recent tax return (if self employed)
